Our MSDS dictionary of technical terms makes it easier for your employees to read an MSDS document and understand the technical terms that are often used by the authors of the document.

This convenient dictionary opens up alphabetically while the MSDS document is being displayed so that users do not have to go to another web page (flip-flop back and forth) to look up the dictionary terms.

Search by Part Number. If your organization assigns any type of code (e.g., part number) to its MSDS documents, then you can search for MSDS documents by that code. This is an excellent way to track materials and products within your facility.
Search by Synonyms. Although other MSDS database providers may list the synonyms associated with a particular product, very few if any of them actually let you search this field. With OfficeMSDS®, a search for "nail polish remover" will return results for acetone or ethyl acetate for example. This is an excellent way to find an MSDS when you do not know the actual product name. The synonyms results field can be expanded or contracted to show or hide this information by simply clicking the expand icon.
Other Search Criteria. You can also search by product name, CAS number or supplier name. Partial entries are allowed so that the user does not have to enter the complete term. For example, entering Fisher under supplier name will return results for Fisher Scientific and so on.
Search Methods. You can search by a single search term, such as by location, or you can search by multiple search terms such as by location and product name. This allows you to search by any combination of search terms available. If you have designated locations or departments, these will be automatically be displayed in a pull-down list that users can use to select a location or department to search. You do not have to enter full search terms as well. For example, entering "aceto" into the product name field will return all MSDS results that have the term "aceto" in the product name, like acetone, acetonitrile and so on. The search term "aceto" will also be highlighted in the results page so that you can find your document more easily.
Sorting Results. All of the fields (product name, supplier, CAS No., etc.) can be sorted by simply clicking the icon next to the field name. Clicking the icon will sort the results and display a icon for ascending sorts (A-Z) or a  icon for descending sort (Z-A). Sorting has never been easier!
MSDS Dictionary. Many times the employees reading the MSDS document do not understand the technical terms that are often used. Use this innovative free feature to help your employees understand such terms as LD50 and reducing agent so that they understand the document. This helps to comply with OSHA's training requirements that require employees to be able to read and understand the information presented.
MSDS Fax On Demand. Even though this database is designed to provide you with a  convenient way to manage and access your MSDS documents, we realize that in the event of an emergency the situation can be chaotic and you may not have access to the database. In these instances, simply give us a call and we will fax you or the emergency responders a copy of the MSDS document for free. Anywhere, 24/7.
Archiving Capability. If for example you have 3 MSDS documents for acetone from the same supplier, the search results will only display the most current version of the MSDS. However, OSHA still requires that the other 2 outdated MSDS documents still be kept on file for a period of 30 years. With OfficeMSDS®, all of your older, outdated or discontinued MSDS documents remain in the database and are available for your use. To see these archived MSDS documents, simply check the "Search Archive" box on the search page. This allows you to view all archived MSDS documents. Additionally, you can select a date range in the archive search to find documents for certain time periods. This feature complies fully with OSHA's 30-year MSDS document retainment requirement. With other MSDS on-line services, viewing archived documents requires you to weed through a list of hundreds or thousands of documents, if they even provide such a capability.
Private Database. You can be assured that your MSDS documents are secure. Unlike our competitors, we do not allow everyone access to our database and we do not share your MSDS documents with the public. Your user name and password allows you to access your records only. This protects the database from hacking attacks and protects your information from general disclosure to the public and to your competitors.
Third Party Access. You can provide your customers with a username and password so that they can view only your product MSDS documents. Raw material MSDS documents will not be available to them. This is a great way to distribute your product information to your customers. There is a small fee to obtain third party access to your MSDS account. Third party access accounts do not have access to location and department information as products are specific to your company, not a particular location or department. However, when you log in to the system using your username and password, you will be able to see this information if it was provided.
Custom Log In Page. When you sign up to become a member, we ask you for a logo so that it can be displayed on your search page. When your employees or your customers log in to the system, a page will be displayed that shows your organization's logo and MSDS or Hazard Communication contact person's information. It makes the MSDS search feature look more like your company's web page so employees and customers will feel at ease in using it. Additionally, it provides information for instant point-of-contact should your employees or customers have questions concerning their use of the product or material.
24/7 Worldwide Support. Our support personnel are available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to help you or your users with any questions. Simply call the number (1-800-965-5323) listed on the top of each of our web pages.
